The first observation that I made at the site was the deconstruction of the barns. Then, I found this leaf. It seemed a good, natural representation of what I saw was happening with the barns. Little is left of this leaf beyond its original structure, similar to the way the surface is tearing away from the structure of the barns. I also thought about the way that light was entering the barn through the holes that were from the deconstruction and the way that this leaf is letting through light that it would not originally allow through because of the holes occurring in it as well. Here, I am identifying different branching structures as well as a hierarchy inside the leaf that I found to create a figure/ground model.
